The Cotton House Hotel is located in the heart of Barcelona, in the Eixample district

The Eixample district is a perfect grid of wide streets that form blocks with chamfers on each corner, facilitating circulation and visibility. Like the buildings in this original district, the Cotton House Hotel has an interior patio garden. The Eixample was planned at the end of the 19th century and today it is one of the best districts in Barcelona thanks to its planning simplicity and the quantity of services and amenities it offers. It was the district chosen by rich Catalan industrial bourgeoisie to build their stately homes in the Modernist style, which is why it is the area of Barcelona with the highest concentration of buildings in this style. Of particular note are La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, both the work of Gaudí, Barcelona’s most universal architect (they are a 10-minute walk from the hotel). Not forgetting the Sagrada Familia, a 20-minute walk away.

Just 300 metres from the Cotton House Hotel is the majestic Passeig de Gràcia, the most distinguished shopping boulevard in the city and home to the highest number of luxury shops: Chanel, Armani, Carolina Herrera, Cartier, Versace, Gucci, Prada, Chopard, Dolce & Gabanna, Escada, Jimmy Choo… as well as the popular chains Zara, Mango, H&M, Benetton or COS, among many others.

The Cathedral, National Artistic monument of Barcelona, is less than a 15-minute walk away. A pleasant stroll that takes you through the Gothic Quarter, the true historical centre of the city, with Romanesque and Gothic buildings, delightful squares, gardens and charming restaurants.

Just 5 minutes from the hotel one of the most emblematic and popular boulevards in Barcelona can be found, La Rambla, a promenade that runs between Plaça de Catalunya and the port, leading to the sea. It is a bustling promenade full of newspaper and flower stalls, street actors, cafés, restaurants and shops where 2 great landmarks of the city are located: the famous Liceu theatre, where operas and ballets are staged; and the traditional La Boquería market.

The city of Barcelona is renowned worldwide for its architecture, design and cuisine, but also for the city’s football team, Futbol Club Barcelona, popularly known as Barça, founded in 1899. It has the stadium with the largest capacity in Europe, the Camp Nou, where exciting matches are played. We can arrange for tickets for our guests.

Music lovers must visit the Palau de la Música Catalana (a 10-minute walk from the hotel), an impressive Modernist building dating from the beginning of the 20th century which has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO thanks to its spectacular mosaics, sculptures and stained glass windows.

The Gran Teatre del Liceu, the oldest and most prestigious working theatre in Barcelona and regarded as one of the most important in the world, has been the scene of the most acclaimed plays and ballets since 1847.
