Hi everyone!
Please, sincerely apology for the late post. After our last day in Barcelona I got really sick and I had to stop our trip. As you might know, I wasn’t finally able to continue our road trip to France with Jeremy and I had to go back home in Valencia to take care of my health.
So, after a month in Valencia, our stopover in Barcelona was the end of our trip in Spain. It was our first time together in “La Ciudad Condal”. We both knew the city from previous trips. Therefore, we were looking for something new, unusual and far away from the common Barcelonese stereotypes.
Cotton House, the new Autograph Collection hotel from Marriott came to our ears, and quickly became the obvious place to land.
For those who don´t know yet, Autograph Collection by Marriott groups independent boutique hotels, selected for their quality, bold originality, rich character and uncommon details.
Cotton House represents the sophisticated chain in Barcelona, standing on the site of the former headquarters of the Cotton Textile Foundation “Fundación Textil”.
All the original elements of the building have been conserved, including the walls. Thus, the rooms might not be oversized, but everything there reminds the cotton colonial legacy. The king size bed had the sweetest sheets we had the chance to experience, made of the finest cotton traded here. Beauty, vanity and bath products are reflecting the lux and the quality of the place.
The library is one of our favorite rooms in the house; high walls, big windows and a massive furniture that welcomes you to stay there forever! Is so relaxing being there, the perfect spot to evade and work, read or just spend time with yourself.
That room is also connected to the tailor shirts. Curated cotton handpicked, to dress up the gentlemen in town.
That night, my family joined for dinner and I was wondering were to take them out. When we discover the Batuar restaurant of Cotton House we felt in love with! They have this beautiful dining room as wallpaper, the old paper invoices of the Cotton “factory”! We invited some friends from Barcelona to check this lovely hotel with us and these rooms we can tell, left us all speechless!
We were lucky enough that the weather was still cool, and we had the opportunity to enjoy their terrace, a perfect place for drinks as well for diner.
Our last morning, we packed super-fast to have time to enjoy one of the best breakfast we have ever had and to spend some time by the pool. You cannot leave Cotton House without having swim at the last floor and with the view overtaking the Cathedral of La Sagrada Familia.
If we could choose an “experience” in Cotton House I would might say the smell of the hotel, that smell that you perceive as soon as you get into the House, the unique smell made by them that you can find in the bath soap til their home Spray, their embroidery pillows in golden. Cotton House worth a visit to experience during a stay in Barcelona.
You might think that such a sophisticated and unique hotel is a reason enough to visit the hotel but we can tell that the best of Cotton House is definitely their people, whom with their sincerity genuinely offer you high standard of service in a luxurious accommodation with lifestyle.
